Jonny Awsum learnt at a young age that fame doesn't come without its difficulties, after he was cast to play Elvis in a school production of The Dracula Spectacular. Whilst the rest of the kids in class were more busy swapping Pogs, Jonny was channelling all his energies into artfully embodying The King - and getting major laughs with his arch comic timing to boot. But with the ambition it generated also came a warning: 'Play the fame game wisely, or you too could end up gouging yourself to death on hamburgers whilst crying on the toilet.'

And so Jonny Awsum's dynamic mantra was born: to embrace the entertainment business at all its levels, but keep a level head and avoid its pitfalls. Over his many years of experience he's honed his skills as a multi-faceted creative powerhouse and as a result Jonny - as a performer, writer and presenter - is today one of Britain's freshest new faces, teetering on the brink of greatness.

Getting this far didn't come without toil, as his tenacious CV shows. A musician since his teenage years, he has sung and played guitar in The Bazookas, who were backed by BBC6 Music and Kerrang!, while in his younger years his band Scubamaid held the coveted titled of 'Biggest Band in Derby' - no mean feat I'm sure you'll agree. Then there was the musical he wrote and staged with his brother - Saving Grace, it was a Grease-style love story set in the murky world of an 18-30's holiday resort. Dear sweet Sandy taking part in a wet t-shirt competition - just imagine it!

Schooled in design and performance management, Jonny is skilled behind the scenes as well as out on stage entertaining the masses - and this extra knowledge of the entertainment industry gives him a professionalism that marks him out. Having founded his own promotions company, Awsum PR, it was featured in PR Week after only three months of its inception, for its outlandish achievements including first band to play at London Zoo, aboard the Orient Express and in Madame Tussuads.

One of his most successfully acclaimed ventures, however, came in the form of Bring Your Parents' Records, a club night Jonny launched in August 2008 at a warehouse flat in Old St. These free monthly parties were unique as people were urged to bring their parents' vinyl along and play them themselves - an offer people found too tempting to refuse. After 3 months it outgrew the flat and moved to various venues in and around London, where it continues to draw crowds to this day. 'An increasingly popular London based club night...does what it says on the tin,' said The Sun... 'Your folks can be cooler than a hypothermic Samuel L Jackson, thanks to the star-studded London night BYPR,' chimed The Star - everyone agrees Jonny's BYPR night's are like nothing else in London.

Jonny's more recent projects continue to subvert expectations. He has just finished a run at the swankier than thou Met Bar with 'The Jonny Awsum Show' - an exciting new entertainment show featuring guests, gossip, games and great bands that's so exclusive TV cameras weren't invited! The only way to experience it was first-hand and up close at the famous venue - the best way forward with Jonny's unique wit and infectious charm. Meanwhile, over in Soho, Jonny hosted 'Wacabonkers' - "London's craziest quiz" at Punk, with the chance to win a bottle of bubbly if you could make it through the mayhem! Just think how far he's come: when he was a kid Park Lane - where the Met Bar resides - was little more than a dream left lingering in the upper echelons of the Monopoly board. Now he's right up there with it at the top!
